The BBP-1 tool is required to extract the 2 ball bearings supporting the motor rotor shaft on the BBS01/02 and the BBSHD and located in blind holes. The tool comes complete as shown. A 3/8″ and 3/4″ wrench are required to make the extraction.
To use the tool, the knob on top should be unscrewed enough to allow the collapsible opposite end to be fully collapsible. It will require a little down pressure to slip the tool through the bearing. Once tool is through bearing, use a 3/8″ wrench to hold the tool body and tighten the knob (clockwise) to expand the tool end and grasp the bearing ID. Then run the 3/4″ hex nut down to seat on top of washers. Then using the 3/8″ and 3/4″ wrenches turn the 3/8″ wrench counter clockwise to extract the bearing. Be careful with your tool as the split end is thin and somewhat delicate.
